Berman/Weinstein Accused of Violations
On July 3, 2008, SCA Board President Roz Berman and VP Carl Weinstein were publicly accused of multiple counts of flagrantly violating multiple statutes and a mix of SCA governing rules as a result of their gross misbehavior at the June 2008 Board Meeting.
This promises to be a unique case. Where most Code of Conduct allegations are handled in confidence, this one is completely different. Everything is out in the open and subject to community-wide discussions and judgments.

As many of you know, I was in attendance at the June 2008 board meeting being discussed here. I too was thoughally discusted with the behavior and the attitude of Roz Berman and Carl Weinstein. In my opinion, both of them continually harrassed and interupted any members of the community that they did not agree with. What follows is a direct quote from the transcript of the Roger Grant seminar for the board of directors. It’s more than obvious that these two board members can not seem to get the message from Roger Grant.

BOB FRANK: I assume it’s two ways also? The board members have a higher level in terms of talking back to residents?
ROGER GRANT: Absolutely. You have to set an example for the whole community. And I know it’s hard sometimes. No one appreciates what you do. It’s difficult. But the board has to stay calm and collected. And always treat people with respect.
Treat the homeowners with respect, make it appear you’re very concerned with what they are saying even if you’re not, and thank them, and say we appreciate your input.

Instead of being civil and “concerned”, it’s more like being in a lions cage when some one wants to adress the board. That is the residents ONLY way to make contact with the board of directors. I myself have adressed letters to the board of directors, only to have them ignored. When the board (with the exception of Bob Frank), simply does not want to deal a subject, it is simply ignored, and/or if it raised at a board meeting they do everything possible to harrass and intimidate the residents.
